About the Bermuda School of Music

A not-for-profit registered charity #483, the Bermuda School of Music was founded in 1978, beginning with the Dunbarton School of Music. This was followed by several mergers including that of the Bermuda Academy of Music and the Bermuda Conservatory of Music in 2001.

With a mandate to provide excellence in music education through a highly qualified local and international staff, the School offers Bermuda’s finest programmes for children and adults in piano, organ, voice, chamber choir, youth choir, flute, clarinet, saxophones, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, guitar (classical and electric), percussion, drums, steel pan and violin, viola and cello. There are also classes in music theory, composition and jazz studies.  While a large number of its students are of school age, participants in the School’s programmes include every age group, from infants to retirees.
